ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Paul Fire Department is crediting Stovetop Firestop with saving a 44-unit apartment building on Thursday night.
The product is placed above kitchen stoves and in the case of a fire, a chemical is dropped from above.
The chemical then puts out the fire before it can spread.
Last year, KARE 11's Boyd Huppert went along with St. Paul and White Bear Lake firefighters as they installed the canisters.
