MINNEAPOLIS - Hennepin County officials have identified the pedestrian struck and killed by a bus this week as a 64-year-old St. Louis Park man.
Mark Gregory Best was hit by a bus Thursday evening in downtown Minneapolis. He was in the crosswalk at the time.
He died Friday morning as a result of multiple blunt-force injuries, according to the medical examiner's office. His death has been categorized as an accident.
A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says the bus driver has been placed on administrative leave while Metro Transit police and the medical examiner's office investigate.
Metro Transit says this is the 10th fatal accident in 23 years involving a bus and a pedestrian.
