ST. PAUL, Minn. - Attorneys for both the prosecution and the defense are working Wednesday to fill out a jury and get the murder trial of Jeffrey Trevino underway.
KARE 11 reporter Scott Seroka says one additional juror, a mechanical engineer, had been selected as of 11 a.m. The questionnaire that all candidates filled out asked them about how much media coverage they've seen, whether they've determined guilt or innocence, what type of TV shows they watch, and how potential jurors view police officers and attorneys.
Eight members of the jury were selected Tuesday, five men and three women. Those selected include an electrician, pastor, produce shipping manager, chemical engineer, retired military veteran, health care consultant, nanny/recent college graduate and a woman recently let go from a radio station.
Trevino is charged with killing his wife Kira Steger in February. The case has drawn considerable media attention since this winter, and that was the basis of a number of questions that potential jurors fielded.
