GRAND MEADOWS, Minn. - A Mower County mink farm is among fur operations apparently raided by animal rights activists in a number of states.
Owner Einar Myhre says hundreds of mink were released at his farm near Grand Meadows in the middle of the night late Sunday or early Monday. Employees, fellow farmers and friends helped Myhre round up all but a few dozen animals. the majority of the animals.
The Animal Liberation Frontline, a website that tracks the releases, claimed other raids have recently been carried out in 8 states, including Wisconsin. About 2,000 mink were released from a farm in Calumet County.
FBI investigators and sheriff's deputies are investigating the raid Saturday at the Bonlander Furs farm in New Holstein.
