BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Northwestern Health Sciences University President Jeff A. Nelson was found dead Tuesday morning, according to a statement from leadership at the university.
The statement says he was found at his Stillwater home. The apparent cause of death was a gunshot wound.
"This is a tragic occurrence and we're obviously very saddened for Jeff's family and four our campus community."
Nelson was the 6th president and CEO of Northwestern Health Sciences University. He was also a former Regent at the University of Minnesota.
