Connecticut Sun point guard Lindsay Whalen could miss the WNBA Finals.
Whalen injured her left knee Saturday in the Eastern Conference finals, when she collided with Indiana guard Tully Bevilaqua in the closing minutes of the first half.
Initial tests didn't show the crack, and Whalen returned for the second half, scoring 13 of 14 points in that period. The Sun beat the Fever 77-to-67 in overtime for a two-game sweep of the conference finals.
An MRI and a follow-up exam confirmed the small fracture in Whalen's knee.
The former University of Minnesota star from Hutchinson averaged 16.5 points through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
The Sun open the best-of-five WNBA Finals at home Wednesday against West champion Sacramento.
