Democrat Patty Wetterling's campaign manager has fired a field organizer who admitted sending an e-mail to one of opponent Michele Bachmann's field staff implying he was a Bachmann supporter.
Bachmann said the e-mail was signed "Erick," but the e-mail heading said the message was from "Jon Bohn," a Wetterling employee who joined the campaign about a month ago.
The e-mail sought information about Bachmann's plans to overcome Wetterling's lead in the latest poll.
Wetterling campaign manager Corey Day says he fired Bohn minutes after he received the e-mail from the Bachmann campaign. He said Bohn admitted to sending the e-mail.
Bachmann said using a false identity to infiltrate a campaign could be illegal and says she asked the attorney general and U-S attorney to look into it.
