Representative Tim Walz is criticizing President Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq.

In the Democratic Party's weekly radio address, Walz says military members know its their duty to execute their mission without question -- but it's the duty of Congress to question the mission on their behalf.

Walz is a freshman Democrat and National Guard veteran.

He says that before moving forward with the president's plan to send over 21-thousand more troops to Iraq, Congress needs to demand honest answers. Walz wants to know what the benchmarks are for success and how long Bush believes it will take to accomplish them.

Walz says he believes the president's escalation will compound a bad situation and make matters worse. He says diplomatic and political solutions are needed in Iraq, not more U-S troops.

In his own weekly radio address, Bush says he recognizes that many members of Congress are skeptical.
