An rush hour accident killed one on Interstate 35W near Lino Lakes and closed the southbound lanes of that highway for much of the morning.
A passenger car, what appears to be a late model Nissan Murano, and a tractor trailer carrying telephone poles were involved in the crash.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff's office a 30-year-old man who was driving the Murano crossed over the median and struck the truck head on.
He was killed in the crash and the driver of the truck, a 42-year-old Wisconsin man, received minor injuries.
