Richfield police are investigating a homicide that took place on the 7200 block of Columbus Avenue Friday night.
Officers responded to a “shots fired” call at around 9:00 PM. Upon arrival they discovered a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest in the basement of 7245 Columbus Avenue.
The victim was transported to HCMC where he later died. Richfield police are holding a 40-year-old male suspect, whom they believe was acquainted with the victim, in Hennepin County jail.
