A Minnesota driver is safe after swerving off a road and into the Saint Croix River Sunday. Brett Olson, 47, of Lakeland, lost control of his car while driving on the I-94 bridge over the Saint Croix River Sunday. Olson was playing with the C.D. changer when he crashed through a chain link fence and plunged into the river, the State Patrol says. He escaped through the door of his car and swam to shore before dive teams and other rescuers showed up at the scene. Olson refused medical attention. He was ticketed by authorities and will also have to pay a fine for having his car pulled out of the river.
