Police found a body believed to be that of a missing Little Falls man near Foley on Saturday, his mother said.

Sharon Wilczek, the mother of Lewis James Wilczek, 21, said police told her the investigation into her son's weeklong disappearance had changed from a missing person case to a homicide. She declined to elaborate on what else police told her since the investigation is still open.

Lewis Wilczek disappeared April 29 when he was supposed to meet someone in St. Cloud.

His pickup truck was found Wednesday, and police arrested a man who was driving it and claimed to be Wilczek. He was being held in the Stearns County Jail for allegedly providing false information to police and outstanding warrants.

Police have not said what role, if any, he might have played in Wilczek's disappearance.

Little Falls Police Chief Michael Pender was unavailable for comment Saturday night.
