A teacher at Como Park High School has been charged in Ramsey County with two counts of criminal sexual conduct in connection with an alleged sexual relationship with a student.

According to the criminal complaint, Joseph Tucker, 28, and the 17-year-old female student became close in November of last year. The student told a sexual abuse counselor that he first kissed her while they were working on the school play.

Tucker is the student's orchestra teacher.

The student also said that she had been to his St. Paul home on several occasions and had engaged in oral sex. That statement was verified by Tucker, who told authorities the two were at his home about three times a month.

Several students were apparently aware of the relationship between Tucker and the student, but it wasn't until earlier this week that a student told school officials that he'd seen the student getting into Tucker's truck.

Tucker makes his first court appearance late Thursday.
