The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday night that they have postponed Thursday?s matinee game against the Kansas City Royals in response to the tragic events which took place on I-35W in Minneapolis.

The Twins, Hennepin County and the Minnesota Ballpark Authority have also postponed the new stadium groundbreaking ceremony that was previously scheduled for Thursday evening.

Thursday?s previously scheduled game against the Royals has been rescheduled for Friday, August 31, as part of a split doubleheader. First pitch that afternoon will be at 1:10 pm.
