The storm overnight Saturday that caused flooding, tree damage and power outages across the metro also forced navy divers leading recovery efforts at the site of the bridge collapse out of the water for about three hours.
All that rain, a military spokesperson told KARE 11, created a much stronger flow in the Mississippi River and divers had to suspend operations.
At least one diver continued to assess the danger and at 10:45am Saturday, the underwater search for victims continued.
The Army Corps of Engineers is once again helping regulate the flow of the river through the lock and dam.
Divers are hoping for a safe window before any more bad weather hits.
Five people are still listed as missing.
Meantime, a dozen investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board remain on the scene.
Chairman Mark Rosenker this week said the NTSB has started running a computer failure analysis program.
And he's hoping a new aerial photo taken before the bridge fell will be helpful to the investigation to determine how much weight was on the bridge.
