A man arrested by French authorities is claiming
he met some high-profile terror suspects in Afghanistan.
French sources tell The Associated Press he's apparently talked
freely to investigators about his past ties with Islamic militants.
He was arrested around Paris in an alleged plot to bomb a French
cathedral.
The man, a Frenchman with Algerian roots, claims to have
crossed paths in Afghanistan with Zacarias Moussaoui, Richard Reid and Ahmed Ressam.
Moussaoui is charged with direct involvement in the September
eleventh attacks, Reid allegedly tried to set off explosives in his
shoes on an international flight, and Ressam was convicted in a
millennium bombing plot in the United States.
French sources say Reid had told American investigators he never
went to Afghanistan, just to Pakistan.
