The University of Minnesota president is reminding students about mental health services available in the wake of the shooting at Northern Illinois University.

President Robert Bruininks reminds students the university has many resources available for those who feel stressed or depressed by the recent shooting.

Former NIU student Stephen Kazmierczak is accused of gunning down five people at Northern Illinois University in a suicidal rampage on Thursday.

Bruininks says the most recent campus shooting hits close to home because it is in the Midwest. The NIU campus is in Dekalb, Illinois.

Bruininks also says the university is extending its thoughts and support to NIU.
