ST. PAUL -- Funeral arrangements have been set for a 22-year-old soldier from North St. Paul who died in Iraq last week.
The funeral for Specialist Jacob J. Fairbanks will take place at noon Friday at Hayden Heights Baptist Church in St. Paul.
Governor Tim Pawlenty plans to attend the services. He has ordered flags at the State Capitol to fly at half staff Friday.
Following the funeral, Fairbanks will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Fairbanks died April 9 in Baghdad of injuries the military described as non-combat-related.
He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment in the 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Fairbanks had joined the Army in 2004 and was about six months into his second tour in Iraq.
