State's birthday bash marred by protest

Bemidji is Minnesota's "Capital for a Day" as part of Statehood Week, celebrating the state's 150th birthday. Each day this week a different community will be named "Capital for a Day."

Sunday, Governor Tim Pawlenty hosted an event celebrating the sesquicentennial in St. Paul.

It was marred by protests led by Clude Bellecourt of the American Indian Movement. Other tribal members marched around the Capitol say Minnesota's past also includes many crimes agains Native Americans.

This weekend group also tried to block a wagon train travelling from Fort Snelling to the Capitol as part of the sequecentennial activities.
