It takes a village to put on a national political convention. That, and about 10,000 volunteers. The organizers of the Republican National Convention later this summer say they've got almost 4,000 volunteers signed up so far. They're taking applications through the end of June for the rest. The volunteers will help with transportation, information, hospitality and special events at a number of locations during the convention September 1-4 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Cynthia Lesher, president of the host committee, says it's the perfect time for Minnesotans to get involved in a history-making event.
