ST. PAUL -- Vice President Dick Cheney has helped Minnesota Republicans bring in a six-figure haul during a fundraiser in the western Minneapolis suburb of Wayzata.
State GOP spokeswoman Gina Countryman says the party didn't publicize the morning fundraiser because it was at a private home.
She wouldn't say specifically how much was raised, but said the tally is in the six figures.
The state Republican Party can use the money raised to help federal candidates for the U.S. House, Senate and the White House.
Countryman says there were roughly 100 people there, and they could give up to $10,000 each if they haven't made previous contributions to the party account this year.
The fundraiser came to light when news organizations began asking about traffic-snarling road closures that usually accompany visits by high-profile public officials.
