Will McCain choose Pawlenty?
It is the courtship of our Governor's lifetime.Tim Pawlenty can only do so much to woo Senator McCain into choosing him as his running mate because in the end it's McCain who gets to choose. CNN is reporting today that a republican source close to John McCain was in a meeting in New Hampshire with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee this week and in that meeting McCain was very, very complimentary to Governor Tim Pawlenty. "There are good reasons to choose Pawlenty," political analyst Kathryn Pearson told KARE-11 Wednesday. "But, there are good reasons to choose one of the other candidates. Really, it's anyone's guess." And Governor Pawlenty refuses to publicly play the guessing game. "What I know is I've stopped engaging in all of this VP discussion but it's interesting for people to speculate about it and you are nice to ask," Pawlenty told Fox News Tuesday. While the match has yet to be made it is clear that it is coming soon. "The timing is right for McCain to make the announcement this week," Pearson said. In many ways Pawlenty as VP makes sense but Pearson says there is one reason that may put him above the rest. "His relationship with McCain has been strong for some time and I suspect he is thinking hard about which one would make the best partner in government in the White House."
