A man police say is responsible for the death of three women inside a Mounds View home, is now under arrest. The suspect was arrested in Minneapolis, just hours after the murders. On Monday, Minneapolis police responded to a report of a man with a knife trying to kill himself because he had committed a crime in another city. Upon arrival at the 3000 block of 3rd Street North, police said they found a man threatening them with a knife. When the man refused to drop the knife, officers used a taser on him three times without success. The man then began stabbing himself. Police say he continued to resist even after he stabbed himself and was placed under arrest. At this point, Minneapolis police say they had no idea this man was involved with the murders in Mounds View just a few hours earlier. It was when officers walked outside the apartment that agents with BCA and Mounds View police arrived on scene and informed Minneapolis police that the man was the suspect in the Mounds View murders. The suspect was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with stab wounds and head injuries. His condition was not immediately available. Early Monday afternoon, police were called to the 5000 block of Sunnyside Road in Moundsview after after someone called police to ask that they check on the welfare of the residents. When officers entered the home, they found two bodies inside. Police announced the discovery of the third body Monday night. Police say all three of the victims were women, they were related, and at least two of them lived in the home. Police wouldn't say how the women died. Names of the victims have not been released, and the cause of death has not been announced. Mounds View police, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Ramsey County medical examiner's office are investigating.
