Police: Man conned fiancee, married another in Hawaii
40-year-old Raymond Edward Jackson is in jail tonight, in Hawaii, for a heartbreaking case of theft and fraud. "It's unusual to say the least I can't think of another case where we have had facts like this," Pierce County Prosecutor John O'Boyle said of his case against Jackson. Brace yourself ladies. Jackson is real hum dinger. Jackson courted a western Wisconsin woman this summer, a 49-year-old divorcee. According to her adult son, who talked exclusively to KARE 11, the woman fell hard for Jackson's charms and accepted his marriage proposal 2 months after they met. The son said Jackson quickly moved in telling the woman he was penniless but on the lookout for job. "He didn't have a job, he was lying about having a job to us and he had my mom take him to interviews where he would just go into the building and then come out, who knows what he did in there," the son, Jaime said. He told the woman he had a big interview two days before Christmas, eight days before their wedding and he needed to fly to South Dakota. The criminal complaint details that Jackson asked his fiancée for her credit card to pay for his flight. She gave it to him and then came home after taking him to the airport to find a lot of things missing. "He took her electronic toothbrush, pearl necklace, laptop, cell phone," the son said. She called her phone and had a voicemail from a Hawaiian florist saying her flowers were arriving at her hotel room in Maui. "He sent flowers on my mom's credit card to a hotel in Maui to another woman." He also stole the engagement ring he didn't even pay for to give to this woman he met up with in Hawaii. Jackson allegedly racked up thousands in charges on the victim's credit card paying for the affair in Hawaii. Finally, the victim figured out what was happening and called Wisconsin authorities. Jackson was charged with two felonies for theft and fraud. We are not identifying the victim because she fears for her safety. Jackson was convicted of domestic assault on his ex-wife in California some time ago. He also has convictions for theft and swindle in Tennessee and Missouri.
