HAM LAKE, Minn. -- Authorities are investigating a body found encased in ice on a Ham Lake golf course.

A groundskeeper at the Majestic Oak Golf Course discovered the body Friday afternoon near Hole 16. It was in a frozen pond that's normally only two feet deep.

It took authorities several hours to free the body from the ice. Officials think the body has been there since before the water froze for the winter. There were no obvious signs of trauma, but authorities say they are assuming foul play was involved.

The body appears to be that of a man, based on its clothing.

Anoka County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Longbehn says officials were reviewing missing persons reports.
