WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- Three honor students at Winona Senior High School have been charged with stealing more than $1,300 in cash and merchandise from gym lockers.
One boy is 17 and the other two are 16. The charges include felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property.
Prosecutors say the three broke padlocks on lockers in December and stole items including cash, cell phones, a credit card and an iPod.
Authorities say one teen implicated the other two after some of the items were found in his backpack.
A criminal complaint says one of the teens was searched and police found nothing. The complaint says as he left the room he dropped a wad of cash, and when he stopped, more cash fell.
All three are due in Olmsted County District Court on April 20.
