Authorities arrested a Minneapolis man for a murder outside a White Castle restaurant in Hopkins.

Officers arrested the 20-year-old suspect after interviews with witnesses and a review of surveillance video from several nearby businesses.

Abdirizak Dahir Ali, 24, was shot to death just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the restaurant's parking lot.

Police say witnesses saw the victim arguing with some other people just before the shooting.

The homicide is the second in Hopkins since last July. Before that, the city hadn't seen a murder in nine years.

"It's something that doesn't happen very often," Hopkins Police spokeswoman Connie Kurtz said. "And when it does, it shocks the community and people become fearful and that sort of thing.

KARE's policy is generally to not name suspects until they're charged with crimes.
