BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- Six seniors who built a swing set on the roof of Brookfield East High School won't be banned from their graduation ceremony Saturday after all.

The seniors were given three-day suspensions, including the commencement ceremony, for the prank, but administrators relented Friday.

Elmbrook School Superintendent Matt Gibson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he and East Principal Brett Bowers decided they should allow the seniors to participate rather than detract from the event. The students include the class valedictorian.

One of the students, Nate Hoaglund, said they were trying to show that seniors don't have to use violence or vandalism to outdo last year's prank. He says they were careful not to damage anything. Plans called for the set to be donated for a playground.
