KARE 11 wins National Edward R. Murrow Award
KARE 11 News reporter Boyd Huppert and photojournalist Jonathan Malat have won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for "Feature Reporting" on a story featuring a duck. The story of the "Duck in a Truck" originally aired on KARE 11 in November of 2008. It was part of a series of stories by Boyd Huppert called Land of 10,000 Stories. Click here to the full list of winners. This is KARE's 14th National Edward R. Murrow Award. KARE is the only media outlet in the Twin Cities to win a national award for 2008. "A national recognition such as this is always humbling," said KARE 11 News Director Tom Lindner. "In these tough times, it's somehow reassuring to stop and appreciate the charm and quirkiness around us.
