Two teenagers face felony charges after being accused of firing shots from a vehicle into people's homes in rural Little Falls.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office received two reports Tuesday night around 9:45 p-m from residents in Little Falls Township. Those residents told dispatchers that their homes had just been shot at.

One of those callers attempted to follow a suspect vehicle and maintained contact with the Sheriff's Office by cell phone. With information provided by this citizen, Morrison County Deputies, Little Falls Police Officers, and members of the Royalton Police and State Patrol located the suspect vehicle on Highway 10 near the intersection of Iris Road.

Deputies then executed a high risk felony stop and apprehended a 16-year old Little Falls boy and a 17-year old Little Falls boy. A search of their vehicle revealed a sawed-off .22 rifle and spent casings.

Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel says at least two homes in Little Falls Township appear to have been struck by gunfire during this incident. Interviews with the two suspects did not reveal any clear motive for the shooting.

"It was extremely fortunate that nobody was killed or injured by this reckless act," Wetzel said.

Both teens were transported to the Morrison County Sheriff's Office after their arrest and were then transferred to Lino Lakes Juvenile Detention Center. They will likely remain in custody while charges are drawn up by the Morrison County Attorney's Office.
