TENMILE, Oregon -- Oregon State Police troopers say a Minnesota woman was killed in a crash that killed one other person and injured two more people.
Troopers say 44-year-old Karen Pourrier of Fergus Falls died Saturday night after the car in which she was riding missed a curve and rolled over several times, ended up in a field.
Investigators say the driver, 37-year-old Jason Weiss of Tenmile, Oregon, was driving on Highway 42 when he lost control of the car trying to go around a curve at a high rate of speed. Weiss and Pourrier were both thrown out of the car. Weiss was taken to a hospital where he died and Pourrier was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Pourrier was riding in the back seat. They also say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
Investigators say 44-year-old Micha Weiss of Erhard, Minn., was also thrown out and was critically injured. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center and then flown by air ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Another passenger, 32-year-old Shannon Smith (no hometown provided) was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
