The city of Green Bay continues its welcome home events for former Packer Brett Favre. Today has been proclaimed as Flip Flop Friday.

Mayor James Schmitt is encouraging residents to join the fun as he and his staff sport flip flops.
"I think it is a great thing to do and we're having some fun with it. People throughout the city, especially here at city hall are all wearing flip flops in honor of our previous quarterback," says Schmitt.
He adds that the sandals are the perfect analogy for fans stomachs every time the Favre retirement tour starts up again.
On Thursday, Schmitt changed Minnesota Avenue in Green Bay to "Aaron Rodgers Drive." However, the change is temporary. The street signs will be changed back on Monday.
