The man held in Friday's fatal workplace shooting in Orlando blames his employer for the eruption of violence.

"They left me to rot," 40 year old Jason Rodriguez told reporters as police led him into an Orange County lockup.

One person was killed, and 5 others were wounded when Rodriguez, a disgruntled former employee opened fire inside a 16 floor office building Friday morning.

Rodriguez was a former employee of Reynolds, Smith and Hills, an architectural and engineering firm located in the Gateway Center building. He was fired in June of 2007 for performance issues after just 11 months with the company.

Around 11 a-m Friday morning, witnesses say Rodriguez walked into his former workplace and opened fire. Police officers and emergency responders scrambled to help the injured, and a two block area was cordoned off as swat teams searched for the suspect. Interstate 4, a major freeway that serves central Florida, was completely shut down.

Around 2:30 eastern time, Orlando police confirmed they had arrested Rodriguez, who was hiding out at his mother's house.
He was taken into custody without incident.
