Embattled auto dealer Denny Hecker has been held in contempt of court for failing to produce bank records and other documents related to his bankruptcy case.
Judge Robert Kressel Wednesday ordered Hecker to pay $660 in attorneys fees and gave him until noon Monday to produce the documents.
The records were requested by bankruptcy trustee Randy Seaver and include business accounting ledgers, tax records and lodging and travel expense documentation.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Hecker's attorney, Bill Skolnick, claimed it was difficult to comply with the court order because of the volume of the material requested and the cost of copying those records.
Kressel told Skolnick that failing to produce the records because it's complicated is not much of an excuse.
