Cafe Brenda to close so owner can focus on other projects

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- A legendary eatery announced this week it's closing its doors.

Cafe Brenda is a favorite of vegetarians and foodies, but its owner Brenda Langton says she's closing up shop to focus on new ventures.

Langton says closing Cafe Brenda isn't about the economy or slow business, but is about slowing her life down.

Langton says she's close to signing a deal with another small, independent restaurant to buy the cafe's space.  Cafe Brenda will close in two weeks.

Loyal customers of Cafe Brenda can still find their favorite dishes at Langton's other restaurant, Spoonriver.  Langton will also continue to spearhead the Mill City Farmer's Market.
