PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) -- Police in Kenosha County say no one was injured after about 24 Union Pacific freight cars derailed.

The accident happened just after 12:30 Monday afternoon in the town of Pleasant Prairie. Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says that 20 of the cars were empty, two were carrying wheat, one was carrying plywood and one was carrying potting soil.

The train had a two-person operating crew and was traveling from Chicago to St. Paul, Minnesota.

Equipment to remove or upturn the freight cars was en route to the site. The railroad spokesman says other trains will be re-routed until the derailment is cleaned up.
