MINNEAPOLIS -- Radio personality Dark Star is leaving WCCO-AM after 25 years with the station, most recently as the late-night host of "Sports Night with Dark Star."
He has been on the air for over two decades.
WCCO has not yet announced who will fill the time slot.
Star arrived in the Twin Cities in 1980 and worked as a substitute host at KSTP and handicapped horses for the St. Paul Pioneer Press before landing a job filing horse-racing reports from Canterbury Park for WCCO in 1986.
WCCO Program Director Wendy Paulson told the Pioneer Press that local folks will be filling the newly vacated 9 p.m.-1 a.m. slot while the station searches for Star's replacement.
Star will continue to work for Canterbury Park and the "The Sports Show" on WUCW.
