A man convicted of third degree criminal sexual conduct in 1994 has again pleaded guilty to crimes against a child.

Prosecutors say 31-year-old Justin Farnsworth of Hastings admitted engaging in sex acts with a nine-year-old girl.

In fact the criminal complaint says Farnsworth admitted to police, "Whatever she said, I did." The child told a social worker that Farnsworth threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the abuse.

Last fall, about a month before the latest case, a judge awarded Farnsworth custody of that nine-year-old, who is the daughter of his ex-girlfriend, along with the couples two biological children.

Motiviated by this case, state legislator Joe Atkins of Dakota County has introduced a bill that would prevent anyone convicted of crimes, like criminal sexual conduct, from even being considered for custody of unrelated children.

Sentencing for this latest crime will take place on July 11, in Hastings.
