NEW YORK -- Just days before the start of spring training in Fort Myers, Florida, Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer took a small bite out of the Big Apple.
The 2009 American League MVP appeared on"Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to promote the new Playstation 3 video game "MLB 11: The Show." Mauer is on the cover of the game for the second consecutive year.
Mauer and the comedian competed in a virtual homerun derby on the show which aired Tuesday night.
The three-time A.L. batting champion finished his 2010 season with a .327 batting average and nine homeruns.
Twins Spring Training opens with pitchers and catchers workouts on Friday, February 18. The first spring training game is February 27. The Twins open the seaon on April 1 at Toronto.
"Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights on KARE 11 at 11:35 p.m.
