SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Just in time for back-to-school season, seasonal influenza vaccinations will be offered at the 2012 Minnesota State Fair. It's a perfect opportunity for out-of-towners who may not have easy access to a flu shot.
The Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency (MVNA) will host vaccination clinics -- providing both the nasal spray vaccine as well as the traditional injection -- at the Health Fair 11 Building, all twelve days of the Fair. Parents should take this opportunity to get their children vaccinated against the flu before they are exposed to the virus at school.
Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency is a nonprofit home health and public health care provider in the Twin Cities. Each year MVNA says it provides more than $1 million of un-reimbursed care to uninsured or underinsured individuals who would otherwise not receive nursing care. MVNA provides home care for infants in the first days of life, to people in the final stages of life. It says all proceeds from MVNA's seasonal flu vaccination program support home nursing services for disadvantaged families in the community
