COLD SPRING, Minn. - Central Minnesota's Cold Spring Brewing Co. made a lot of cheap beer over the years. Now it's hoping a $12 million new brewhouse could put some bad memories to rest.
When its Third Street Brewhouse comes online in just more than a week, the St. Cloud Times reports, many of the 200-plus employees should get a boost in self-esteem. A gleaming five-tank, computerized system will replace an antiquated two-vessel setup in an old building and - perhaps most important - produce three new craft beers as its signature offerings.
Early next week, crews will begin bottling Bitter Neighbor black India pale ale, Lost Trout brown ale; and Rise to the Top cream ale. They will be available in bars and restaurants beginning June 28, and in stores June 29.
