MAPLE GROVE, Minn. - The residents of a Maple Grove duplex escaped an early morning fire Sunday.
The fire happened at a home on the 13000 block of 70th Place N.
According to Maple Grove Fire Chief Scott Anderson, the occupants in one of the units woke up to the fire, alerted their neighbors and called the Maple Grove Fire Department.
Anderson says the fire started on the deck and spread to the house, substantially damaging one of the units. He says one firefighter received minor injuries when he fell while battling the fire.
According to Anderson, the duplex is not livable and will need extensive repairs.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
