MINNEAPOLIS - One of the hippest places in the country is right here in the Twin Cities.

The North Loop Neighborhood in Minneapolis is No. 12 on the first-ever list of American's Hippest Hipster Neighborhoods.

The list was compiled by Forbes and nextdoor.com.

North Loop, which is also known as the Warehouse District, is located just outside downtown. The article points to the large warehouses that recently have been turned into apartments, boutiques and restaurants.

Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighborhood was No. 1 on the list.
