MINNEAPOLIS - Next week, crews will begin making final repairs to the Sabo bike and pedestrian bridge, where support cables broke loose last winter.

The work will require the bridge to close to all bicycle and pedestrian traffic until the work is completed in early December.

For the next few weeks, crews will be installing and retrofitting diaphragm plates on the bridge's pylon, one of which fractured in February.

During the closure, bike and pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the intersection of 28th Street and Hiawatha Avenue.
