GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A puppy's arrival in his new home is exciting and action packed. Like human babies, puppies have specific needs and require a tremendous amount of care and attention.
Trainer Kathryn Newman from Augusta Dog Training shared some tips for making sure your home and family are prepared.
Here's what she suggests:
- Have a family meeting and establish a daily schedule.
- Discourage jumping and nipping, and don't wrestle or play tug of war with the new puppy.
- Make sure to crate train the puppy.
- Remember to get all the gear: food, toys, chewies and cleaning aids.
