GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.-- September was "Tackle Cancer" month in Minnesota with more than 130 high school football teams hosting a game in which they raised awareness and money for cancer research and patient aid.
It was such a success, the initiative is now extending through October.
On Thursday morning, KARE 11's Randy Shaver dropped by the show to tell us more.
To date, "Tackle Cancer" and The Minnesota Football Coaches Association have raised almost $45,000.
All money raised will go to The Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund for cancer research and patient aid. For more information, click here.
