On KARE News@4 Executive Editor Kevin Brasler Checkbook revealed some findings on the following:
Appliance Repair Services: A broken home appliance can be a major inconvenience, especially when the dirty dishes are piling up or the groceries you just bought are at risk of spoiling. You want a service that will fix the appliance in short order, and at a fair price. CHECKBOOK has ratings of 26 local appliance repair services for quality and price, and found on average, lower priced companies actually rated higher on service quality than their higher priced competitors.
Primary Care Doctors: The most important way to ensure you get high-quality health care is to establish a relationship with a good primary care physician. CHECKBOOK features ratings of 148 local primary care doctors, along with tips on how to "check-up" on any doctor, and how to know when it may be time to find a new physician.
Hospital Emergency Departments: At some point, most people will be forced to make emergency medical judgments for themselves or others, and knowing whom to call, what to do, and where to go can have a big effect on the situation's outcome. Upholsterers: A skilled upholsterer can make old furniture look new again, and hiring one can be a worthwhile, money-saving solution for sprucing up your home.
