GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - St. Paul will be prime time for celebrity sightings this Sunday as a who's who of the world's top actors, entertainers, and political movers and shakers attend this year's Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala.
Joining KARE 11 News at 4 is Tani Austin, Co-Founder of Starkey Hearing Foundation and Kevin Sorbo, Actor/Friend of the Foundation.
Starkey Hearing Foundation's annual So the World May Hear Awards Gala celebrates the spirit of giving and showcases the tremendous impact of reflecting caring and sharing into the lives of others.
Each year the Foundation honors humanitarians who dedicate their time and service to helping others around the world and here at home.
Hearing is the Foundation's vehicle to improve lives around the world and empower individuals to reach their full potential. With the support they receive at the Gala, the Starkey Hearing Foundation is able to give more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to people in need.
The Starkey Hearing Foundation has pledged to fit more than 1 million hearing aids to people in need this decade. The foundation fit more than 131,000 hearing aids in 2012 alone and is currently nearly 40 percent ahead of schedule on their 1 million hearing aid commitment in 2013.
Starkey has provided the gift of hearing in all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
The Gala will be Sunday, July 28 at the St. Paul RiverCentre in downtown St. Paul.
Celebrities in attendance include:
Ashton Kutcher, Lionel Ritchie, Marc Anthony, Sir Richard Branson, Lou Ferrigno, Tony Hawk, Forest Whitaker, Kristi Yamaguchi, Kevin Sorbo, Verne Troyer (from Austin Powers), Kyle Massey (Disney Channel), Chris Massey (Nickelodeon), Quinton Aaron (Star of the Blind Side), Paige Hemmis (Extreme Home Makeover), Bill Rancic (Apprentice).
Vikings players: Adrian Peterson, Christian Ponder, Kyle Rudolph, Jared Allen, Chad Greenway and Greg Jennings are expected to attend.
Also, for the fourth year in a row, former President Bill Clinton will be in attendance.
