GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- On Saturday, July 14, the Motocross Championship returns to Minnesota. It's the 30th annual Spring Creek Motocross National in Millville, just a short drive outside of Rochester.
Minnesota native and former champion Ryan Dungey was our guest on KARE 11 News @ 4 to discuss the upcoming motocross event and his charity bike ride set to take place in Minneapolis also this weekend.
Ryan is a native of the Minneapolis area and is one of the sport's biggest names. Hailing from nearby Belle Plaine, Ryan amassed a record-setting rookie season en route to the championship back in 2010 and is now the current championship leader for this season, currently enjoying a three-race winning streak.
Ryan will be hosting a charity bike ride in Minneapolis following the Spring Creek event on Sunday, July 15. The event will be hosted by Target and is officially called "The MN Major River-to-River Ride," benefitting St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Dungey is also a member of the LIVESTRONG foundation as a Nike athlete, which allows this ride to show his strong passion to fight cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
