GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- What would you do in a world without books? For Minneapolis area children living in poverty and struggling with reading, a life without books is an unfortunate reality. There is only one book for every 300 children in these low-income neighborhoods.
During the month of August, the nation's largest literacy nonprofit - Reading Is Fundamental - is joining forces with the Hennepin County Medical Center and Buddig Lunchmeats to boost children's literacy and raise funds to provide new books to underserved kids through the "Be A Reader Virtual Book Drive."
To help RIF, HCMC and Buddig to nourish children's minds, Like RIF on Facebook. Your "Like" will result in a $2.50 donation to RIF, up to a maximum of $5,000.
You can make your own donation at buddig.com/be_a_reader.
